The review of the book POR UNDER THE FOREST, AMAZÔNIA PARAENSE LOADED WITH SLAVE LABOR by Carmen Bascarán Collantes, draws attention to the spread of slave labor in Brazil, which upon encountering an individual or a vulnerable social group and on the other hand an explorer if with fertile ground for its continuity, it brings the wood industry as the main school of slave labor, the Amazon as a scenario, state agents as conniving, degrading conditions and fear as a silencer.

ESTADO, PODER E CONTROLE SOCIAL POLÍTICO, JURÍDICO E LEGISLATIVO

Este artigo apresenta as relações entre Estado e poder na constituição do controle social, a partir dos seus aspectos político, jurídico e legislativo, a fim de compreender como a religião/crença, participando da legalidade, ora como pano de fundo, ora como desdobramento, vêm se consolidando como alternativa prática diante da omissão estatal, sobretudo, em situações de privação de liberdade e projetos de lei com pretensão de criminalizar costumes tradicionais. A partir da revisão bibliográfica de textos clássicos e contemporâneos, e legislações pertinentes, serão apresentadas abordagens sobre o surgimento do Estado, conceito de poder, ideologias, utilitarismo, secularização, princípio da legalidade, ato infracional, medidas socioeducativas, “infanticídio indígena", sanção, entre outras, com o intuito de constatar se o controle social nos moldes em que se encontra e/ou se apresenta, tem o condão de legitimar o poder estatal.

Análise das oscilações dos preços de etanol e gasolina no município de Santarém

This article search to understand the behavior of fluctuations in the price of gasoline and ethanol in the municipality of Santarém between August 2001 and November 2019. The data were collected at the National Petroleum Agency. The price series was deflated and the Auto Regressive Moving Average prediction model-ARIMA was applied. The results showed that the series has cycles that can be explained by the perspective of the influence of government policies and the dollar exchange rate. In addition, sporadic events can influence disruptions in these cycles, as is the case of the truck drivers crisis that occurred in 2018, which managed to distinctly influence the two fuels.

As concepções de cultura, vida e humanidade em relação ao “infanticídio indígena” na aldeia Kamayurá

The article presents the variations generated by the meanings of culture, life and humanity in relation to the practice of “indigenous infanticide” in the Kamayurá village, located in the Xingu Indigenous Park/Mato Grosso (MT). From the analysis of theoretically delimited texts about the Kamayurá and Western perspectives of concepts arising from the ideals of dignity that guide traditional practices that are sometimes considered harmful, reflections were developed on the limits and/or possibilities of legislative interventions in uses and customs, in order to highlight, problematize and provide visibility to Kamayurá knowledge, as well as guarantee the right to prior consultation in cases of decisions that may affect them directly.
