ANIMAIS PERIGOSOS? UMA ANÁLISE DAS RESPOSTAS EMOCIONAIS DE VISITANTES ADULTOS NO SERPENTÁRIO DO MUSEU DA AMAZÔNIA

Neste estudo, tivemos como objetivo investigar as emoções vivenciadas por adultos durante visitas ao serpentário do Museu da Amazônia, em Manaus, Brasil. Especificamente, buscamos responder: (a) Que emoções ocorrem em conversas de grupos de adultos em visita a um serpentário?, (b) Como diferentes espécies de serpentes evocam diferentes respostas emocionais? e (c) Qual o papel dos mediadores na experiência emocional e de aprendizagem dos adultos? Dez grupos de adultos, totalizando 29 pessoas, participaram do estudo. As interações foram capturadas usando câmeras GoPro, permitindo o registro de diálogos e interações a partir da perspectiva do visitante. O processo de classificação e identificação das emoções, feito diretamente nos vídeos, foi realizado a partir de descritores padronizados. Os resultados revelaram um total de 12 descritores de emoções (seis negativos, um neutro e cinco positivos) que emergiram da experiência de visita. No entanto, verificamos que a ocorrência de emoções positivas, como curiosidade e diversão, foi mais expressiva (n=136), em comparação às negativas (n= 15), como medo e preocupação, o que indica que a experiência de visita teve um aspecto positivo. Este resultado contrasta com estudos que reforçam o fato de as serpentes historicamente evocarem emoções fortes e frequentemente negativas. Verificamos que a presença do mediador contribuiu fortemente para este resultado, moldando as reações emocionais dos visitantes e também fornecendo informações educativas e científicas.
