Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Absence of APCs (Article processing charges)

RSI does not charge article processing, submission and publication fees (Article Processing Charge-APC), from national and international authors for texts submitted for evaluation, review, publication, distribution or download.

The publication is completely free and open access.

RSI publishes original works, referring to the areas of Special Education, Bilingual Education for the Deaf and the Inclusion of People with Disabilities, under different emphases or fields of research such as: Methodology, Methods and Ethics in the Production and Dissemination of Scientific Knowledge from the Perspective of Accessibility; History of Special Education, Organizations and Social Movements; Educational Policies and Interfaces; Training of Professionals from the Perspective of Accessibility; Support Services for schooling, Professional and Technological Training; Families and Cooperation; Curricular Differentiation and Accessibility; Pedagogical Resources and Didactics; Language Teaching and Special Education: Acquisition, Learning, Training and Professional Performance; Assistive Technology; Communication and Literacy; Social, Emotional and Cognitive Skills from a Biopsychosocial Perspective; Learning Assessment; Training and Accessibility in Higher, Professional and Technological Education; Interfaces between Teaching Modalities and Special Education; Physical Education, Sports and Accessibility; Risk Factors: Prevention and Intervention from a Biopsychosocial Perspective; Gender and Sexuality Diversity; Professionalization, Transition to Work Programs and Labor Accessibility; Art, Culture and Leisure; between others.

It is a continuous publication journal. Material accepted and not published immediately may be published in subsequent blocks, with the editors deciding how best to include the material in the magazine.

The editorial committee reserves the right not to publish and accept submissions of articles by the same author in intervals of less than one year.

Revista Saber Including (RSI) declares that the concepts and positions expressed in the published texts are the sole responsibility of the authors, and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Editorial Team of this periodical.

The guidelines described in section Submission Guidelines must be followed by proponents and invited authors, otherwise it may result in rejection of the proposal.

Articles

Articles of theoretical studies or empirical research:

The structure of this type of text consists of different sections, which contain the stages of the scientific investigation process, and can be organized, not necessarily, as follows: introduction with the problem and research objectives; method / methodology; results; discussion; and conclusion or final considerations. The text must be prepared as a result of a scientific research process.

Literature reviews:

In state-of-the-art or state-of-knowledge format, such as narrative, integrative, systematic or meta-analysis of scientific and academic production. It consists of the analysis of a comprehensive corpus of research, relating to subjects of interest for the development of the area of special education and inclusion of people with disabilities. They must describe in detail the methodology and procedures used to search for original studies.

It is necessary to explain the criteria used in the selection of studies that were included and excluded from the review and the methodological procedures carried out for analysis and synthesis of results. It is also expected that the authors will suggest the next research steps to resolve the identified problems, based on the results found.

Essay:

Theoretical works, preferably commissioned by the Editorial Committee, which portray the author's in-depth knowledge to critically reflect on an existing scientific construct and/or articulate it to the areas of Special Education and Inclusion of People with Disabilities, as well as cooperating in its advances. They can also be descriptions of different designs, for different realities and/or situations that contemplate the universe of Special Education and Inclusion of People with Disabilities and how they present themselves in contemporary times. They need to relate to the concept of an inclusive society and its recognition of differences and diversity.

Experience reports or technical articles:

Description, in scientific terms, of educational procedures and technologies, with a view to improving educational situations or problems and/or better performance of professionals working in the area of Special Education and the Inclusion of People with Disabilities. For these texts, the sections are freer and more flexible, not forgetting the importance of the presence of an introduction and a development that explains the conduct of the experience.

Dialogues

Testimonials or Interviews:

Section open to researchers and/or personalities with public representation in the area of Special Education and Inclusion of People with Disabilities, with a view to describing statements or interviews on topics relevant to the magazine.

Reviews

Reviews:

It consists of a text evaluating and presenting books or collections in the area of Special Education and Inclusion of People with Disabilities published on a date prior to the submission of the review, up to five years old.
