Canagarajah's recent works characterize the concept of spatial orientation in the light of translanguaging, the author discusses the registration of semiotic and multimodal elements of bilinguals of oral languages. Considering the visual-spatial characteristic of the Brazilian sign language and the challenges of writing Portuguese by deaf people, we envision the possibility of describing the concept for languages of different modalities. The objective of this work is to discuss the concept of orientation and spatial repertoire in a dialogue with the spatial elements of Libras grammar. Thus, it is a bibliographical research centered on the study by Canagarajah (2017), but we bring to the dialogue other authors who contribute to the proposed theme, namely Brito (1995); Silva and Cavalcanti (2007). The data constructed indicate that the spatial orientation in translanguaging accommodates communicative practices that include more expansive spatial repertoires, and could be a path taken for the written record of bilingual deaf people, since their linguistic strategies are analogous to those mentioned in the research by Canagarajah (2017) . The text is part of the doctoral thesis in Education and brings contributions from data constructed during the field period.
